Colorado State men’s basketball to begin voluntary workouts on July 6 – The Denver Post

The Colorado State men’s basketball team will begin their phased approach to resuming voluntary team activities next week with a July 6 target date to begin strength-and-conditioning work, the school announced Wednesday.

CSU men’s basketball players are eligible to return to Fort Collins for physical examinations starting on Monday, which includes COVID-19 testing. Initial team workouts will take place outside in small groups with student-athletes administered daily symptom checks. All equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after each use, the school said.

CSU coordinated its return through a pandemic planning team that sought guidance from local, state and federal health authorities. The Rams’ football program began its phased return to campus on June 8.

The CSU men’s basketball team, under the direction of third-year coach Niko Medved, finished 20-12 last season. The Rams had accepted an invitation to the CBI postseason tournament before it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
