Girl, 5, found 'murdered' in London home is pictured as mum charged

A five-year-old girl allegedly murdered by her mother at a home in London has been pictured.

Alijah Thomas was found dead at a property on Leyborne Avenue, Ealing, on Tuesday.

Her mum, Martina Madarova, 41, has been charged with murder and was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene at about 1pm following concerns for the welfare of the occupants.

An ambulance crew tried to save Alijah, but she was pronounced dead.

Neighbours have expressed their shock at the incident as they paid tribute to the ‘little princess’.

On local resident described Alijah as ‘a lovely little girl’ who was ‘always well dressed and looked after’.

Alijah’s cause of death has not been confirmed and a post-mortem has been scheduled for later today.

A female suspect was taken into custody yesterday as photos from the scene showed a large cordon in place around a house on the residential street.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
