Princess Charlotte has joined her family to celebrate her brother Prince George’s birthday today. The little prince turns seven. Two new photos of George were released to mark the occasion.

He has had to celebrate his birthday in lockdown, although many measures have now been eased.

Charlotte turned five in May, while lockdown measures were relatively tight.

It is unknown what either royal received as presents.

Although, reports in December 2019 emerged over Charlotte’s Christmas wish.

The then four-year-old asked dad, Prince William, for a pony.

It was a nod to the Queen’s passion for horses.

Her Majesty is known to love the races, as well as polo – of which the Cartier Queen’s Cup is named in her honour.

At the time, a source told Closer magazine how Charlotte was beginning to take after her grandmother as she grew older.

They said: “Charlotte takes after Queen Elizabeth and is obsessed with horses.

“She’s asked for a pony, but might have to wait until next year because William thinks she’s too young.”

Despite being refused her dream gift, the source said she wouldn’t be disappointed on Christmas morning.

Revealing what the Cambridges bought for their daughter, the insider said: “They’ve bought her a toy riding centre, which comes with all the accessories and a children’s karaoke machine!”

George’s presents were also revealed, related to his own passion: tennis.

Of this, the source said: “George is really into tennis and has asked for a new racket and a football table.”

Both George and Charlotte had other gifts to share – including a children’s cookery set.

Charlotte has been using her time during lockdown with her family wisely.

On her birthday, mum Kate posted snaps of Charlotte out delivering homemade care packages to those in need during the pandemic a few weeks before.

The Cambridges had ventured out to Norfolk to help the elderly and vulnerable.

Here, Charlotte was dressed in a black and white checked dress with grey tights and black Mary Jane shoes.

The images sent the internet into meltdown.

One user wrote: “She is as beautiful as her mum.”

Another mused: ‘Isn’t she just beautiful and the image of the queen.”

A third said: “She is definitely special.”
