WWE Raw returned last night (August 23) for the fourth episode of the five week build up towards Clash at the Castle.
This week’s episode came live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and saw some huge returns as well as some crucial matches.
The show saw the comeback of two Canadian Hall of Famers as WWE legend Trish Startus appeared for the first time in three years and Edge had his first match in Toronto in 11 years.
Stratus made her last appearance at the WWE SummerSlam in 2019 and last night teased that she could be coming out of retirement with a match against Bayley.
Meanwhile, the women’s tag team championship continued as Asuka and Alexa Bliss went up against IYO SKY & Dakota Kai for a place in the final.
Here are all the results from Monday night’s WWE RAW.
Asuka and Alexa Bliss vs. IYO SKY and Dakota Kai
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Tournament continued as Asuka and Alexa Bliss went up against IYO SKY and Dakota Kai in a second round match as they battled for a place in the finals.
It was a lengthy and fierce match but Dakota and IYO SKY eventually managed to steal the win.
They’ll now go up against the winners of the August 26 SmackDown match with Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah vs. Toxic Attraction.
Winners: Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky
Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler
In the second match of the night, Finn Balor went up against Dolph Ziggler after a backstage altercation that saw Ziggler punch Balor in the face.
It was a competitive match that saw The Showoff with the early advantage but The Prince fought back hard.
The intense fight saw Balor take victory as he hit the coup de grace for the win.
Winner: Finn Balor
Chad Gable vs. Kevin Owens
The Alpha Academy came out to announce that they were taking on new students and Gable issued their first-ever open challenge that was met by Kevin Owens.
KO started the match strong before Gabe fought back hard but Owens managed to regain control at the end and won via pinfall after a pop-up powerbomb.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Aliyah vs. Bayley
Bayley returned for her first TV match since June 2021 to go up against Aliyah.
Aliyah received a warm welcome from her hometown and took the early advantage but the more experienced Bayley quickly took control.
Bayley made her return a triumphant one as she hit the rose plant for the win.
Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles vs. Miz and Ciampa
Last week, Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles went up against each other in a match that saw Lashley retain the US Championship. This week, they teamed up to go up against Miz and Ciampa.
The Phenomenal One started off strong but after the break the advantage flipped to Miz and Ciampa.
But the match was called off after Dexter Lumis appeared and dragged Miz out of the ring and through the crowd.
Winners: The Miz and Ciampa via disqualification
Edge vs. Damien Priest
The Rated R Superstar was another Canadian-born to make a hometown return last night, in his first Toronto match in over a decade.
Edge looked to settle the score with his former Judgement Day teammate after the Hall of Famer was kicked out of the group in June.
The night’s main event didn’t disappoint, the thrilling match was hard-fought on both sides but Edge came out victorious via pinfall after a Canadian destroyer and a spear.
